In this Leatherworking Class, participants will learn to craft a product starting from a cardboard template and finishing with a completed piece.
This two-day offering will focus on the use of template implementation and leather journal construction, allowing the individuals participating to learn the art of pattern making and design that ultimately lead to the completion of a finished product.
Ideal for individuals that are beginners or that have an established understanding of the craft's fundamentals, this workshop is suitable for those interested in furthering their hobby crafting skills.
In this class offering, you will:
Learn skills such as stitching, rivet setting, and snap snapping.
Enhance your understanding of basic templating techniques.
Learn advanced templating techniques and how to scale template dimensions for personal projects.
Deepen your understanding of suitable hide thicknesses for templates and project requirements.
Learn advanced methods of hide cutting.
Hand-cut a product from a hide.

Participants who complete this class will receive a Certification of Completion.
This workshop will focus on advanced patterning techniques and scaling measurements in our craft, particularly for the production of larger goods. It will take place at our studio in Charlotte, NC, scheduled for February 28, 2026 and March 1, 2026. Each day will run from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm with a one-hour lunch break provided.
Tools and leather will be provided for use in the studio.
